Who We Are

Hollywell Housing Trust is an award winning charity set up in 2014 to provide housing and housing related support to people with learning disabilities, autism and brain injuries across the whole of Devon and Cornwall.

We are a person centred, ambitious charity, working to improve the lives of vulnerable people by providing one of the cornerstones in life – a safe, secure and sustainable home. We empower people to make their own choices and decisions with regards to their housing and then provide them with the support to make these a reality.

Hollywell does not provide personal care, but rather we source accommodation and provide the housing related support vulnerable people need to live independently – we work closely with the individual’s care provider to ensure that they receive an all-round, holistic support service to allow them to live independently within the community.

Housing & Welfare Officer - WEST CORNWALL -
Part Time (30 hours per week)

The Housing & Welfare Officer plays a pivotal role in the work that Hollywell does. As part of the support service that we provide to our tenants the Housing & Welfare Officer visits each one every week for a ‘Tenancy Clinic’, spending time with them discussing how they are getting on in their home, whether they are getting adequate support and how Hollywell can support them to thrive. This is not a role that involves personal care, however Hollywell works closely with care providers to ensure that the tenant is getting the right support for their needs. The role is about building a trusting relationship with the tenant, learning about their aspirations for the future and supporting them to grow as well as reporting and dealing with any maintenance issues at the properties.

The role will be 30 hours a week (Tuesday – Friday) and the majority will be community based within the West Cornwall locality. You will carry out weekly Tenancy Clinics for each of our tenants, travelling to their home and spending some time talking to them and checking they are happy, safe and thriving in their home and community.

The role will also include ensuring that your notes from the Tenancy Clinics are completed and filed as well as coordinating any maintenance repairs via our Maintenance team. It will also involve liaising with landlords and contractors to ensure that any maintenance work is completed in a timely manner and doing tenancy sign ups with our residents.

Base

The role is community/home based although monthly meetings are held in Exeter. You will be based at home but travel extensively within the community. Please note that living within the West Cornwall area would be highly advantageous. 

Salary

The role is initially for 30 hours a week at a salary of £23,400 per annum rising to £24,100 (figures are pro rata) on successful completion of probationary period, plus mileage expenses.

Maintenance Coordinator - Part Time
(30 hours per week with potential for full time hours)

The Maintenance Co-ordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the properties we lease are maintained to a level that meets our tenants needs and complies with legislation and good practice.

The majority of our properties are leased from private sector landlords and letting agents, meaning that a significant part of this role will involve receiving maintenance requests from the Housing & Welfare Officers, tenants and their support staff, liaising with landlords/letting agents, reporting repairs, co-ordinating repairs where such arrangements are in place and ensuring that all work is completed to the required standard. The role is also responsible for co-ordinating and arranging repairs and cyclical maintenance for our long-lease properties where we have full repairing responsibility.

The role will be based partly in our offices in Exeter, partly from home and partly in the community. You will be required to visit our long-lease properties at least once a month and visit other properties for property inspections as required, including end of tenancy checkouts and to inspect areas of concern and repair work.

This role that will include speaking to the vulnerable people we support, ensuring that work is coordinated and completed in a sensitive way around their own unique needs. Ensuring the safety and of our tenants is of paramount importance and this role is a key part of that.

We are looking for someone to work 30 hours per week, ideally Monday – Friday (plus occasionally being on the on call rota out of hours)

This is a post that would suit someone who has previously worked as a property/maintenance manager or similar within a busy residential letting’s organisation or social housing environment.
